Editor’s note: Today’s post is from the Digital Tech and Data Department at Leroy Merlin España, a leading retailer of renovation and interior design goods in Europe.

At Leroy Merlin España, our 18,000 employees are committed to providing the best possible customer service. So to help them more easily assist Leroy Merlin shoppers, we decided to upgrade our corporate devices.

To deploy new phones and tablets in 140 locations across Spain — including our stores, offices and distribution centers — we needed efficient provisioning and device management. We also needed an enterprise mobility platform that complied with European data regulations, offering tools for proper data and asset governance. With the help of the Android Enterprise team, we upgraded to Android tablets and phones, all managed with Android Enterprise. This has helped ensure customer interactions are efficient and secure, and that our employees stay productive.

Simplified deployment for 15,000 devices

In the past, deploying and managing thousands of mobile devices demanded many manual processes and IT resources. The hours of device prep time took a toll on our team’s budget and productivity.

With help from Android Enterprise partner MYB Tech Solutions, in just under 10 weeks, we deployed 15,000 devices with Android Enterprise for employees across Spain. With zero-touch enrollment, our devices were shipped fully provisioned and set up in just a few clicks. To easily manage devices, we chose VMware Workspace ONE, an enterprise mobility management platform powered by Android Enterprise. From that point on, our team had control of the entire device lifecycle through Google Workspace endpoint management.

Data separation with work profile

Our devices are fully managed and provisioned with work profile, which allows our employees to securely use one device for both work and personal use. Employees can download approved productivity work apps such as Gmail from the Google Play Store without involvement from IT. And when they switch to their personal profile, they can privately access personal apps.

Proactive security and data protection

With Android Enterprise, we can configure policies and encrypt work-related data through the device policy controller. Meanwhile, Google security services alert us to security risks and Google Play Protect detects and blocks malware threats. Combined with data loss prevention controls and strong separation, we can rest assured our deployed devices are secure.

With an easy management platform and security built into each device, Android Enterprise helps our employees focus on providing personalized and efficient service to customers.
